General tab displays basic information related to a specific contact.

On the Quick Access Tool bar
(appears on the left hand side of 'Title bar' of the application),
click Open Object
button.
On the Open Object dialog
box, from the Object drop down,
select Contact.
In the ID field, enter the ID of the Contact that you want to open.
Click Open.
On the System
Menu (appears on the left hand side of 'Quick Access
Tool bar'), point to Open Item
and then click
Open
Contact.
On the Open Object dialog
box, from the Object drop down,
select Contact.
In the ID field, enter the ID of the Contact that you want to open.
Click Open.
On the Service Workspace accordion, in the Administration node, click Contacts.
In the work space, you can make use of Adhoc Row or Tool bar to filter the search results and identify the Contact that you want to open.
Click the ID hyperlink of appropriate record OR double-click the record and the Contact opens.
ID
A code that is a mixture of alphabets and numbers to uniquely identify the contact. The ID is manually given during the creation of contact. If not, then the application automatically generates the code
Title
To identify if the contact is male/ female/ married/ unmarried
First Name*
Given Name of the contact
Last Name*
Surname or Family Name of the Contact
Job Title
Contact's designation at work in the company
Importance
Level of importance: High/ Medium/ Low
Working Hours
Hours during which the contact's business runs
Category*
Refers to the type of customer for the company. Categories are purely defined by company based on the nature of work and requirements
Status
To identify if the contact is still the customer for the company
Owner
The name of the person who created the contact
Phone Number*
Contact's Contact Number
Mobile Phone
Contact's wireless contact number
Fax
Contact's Fax details for contact
Email Address
Contact's e-mail address for contact
Notes
Brief notes describing important details of the contact
