Remove enables you to uninstall a part that is either at top level or under any part. If you uninstall a top level part, then all the parts installed under it are also uninstalled automatically. When you reinstall same part, all its dependant parts are reinstalled automatically.

Steps:

  1. On the Log Parts Used dialog box, in the Part Use Type drop down, select image1352.gifRemove.

  2. In the Use Part From drop down:

    1. Select Site Assets to view the list of all the parts from Site Assets.

    2. Select Part Catalog to view the list of all the parts from Part Catalog. The list includes all the parts from the complete Business Unit Hierarchy Structure.

image1337.gifIf you remove the part from Site Assets then, the respective part is removed from the Site Assets list for the Case.

  1. Select appropriate Failure Mode from the drop down.

  2. The Repairable field automatically populates the respective information of the part.

  3. In the Serial Number field, if the selected part is a serialized part then, the information automatically populates. For non-serialized part, Quantity field appears in place of Serial Number field.

If Use Part From is a Part Catalog then, you need to enter Serial Number manually.

  1. Check Update Inventory check box to track the disposition of the removed part.

  2. In the Part Disposition drop down list, select appropriate place where you want to dispose the part.

  1. When you dispose a part to warehouse, a Part Order is automatically created and added to the Part Orders list for the case with Condition as 'Shipped-Dispatch' and Status as 'Intransit'.

  2. When you dispose a part as 'Part Retain' then, the part is moved to inventory that is associated to the employee, to whom the work item is assigned.

  1. Click Update Serial Number button.

    1. In the dialog box, enter New Serial Number.

    2. Click Save and Close.

  1. Enter appropriate Notes (For instance: why the part is uninstalled and if it can be reinstalled or not etc.)

  2. Click Save and Close.
